Jan Hallenberg, senior researcher at the Foreign Policy Institute, is somewhat surprised by the information in the New York Times that it may have been pro-Ukrainian groups that were behind the explosion of the two gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2.

- This indicates that it is more likely that it is someone or a few with connections to Ukraine than I thought, says Jan Hallengren in Aktuellt.

He points out, however, that it is difficult to assess how credible the new information is.

The fact that the information is coming right now could be a sign from the American side, believes Jan Hallenberg:

- I think there are currents in the US government that believe that Ukraine is going too far when they attack targets inside Russia and in Crimea.

This is a signal from the American side that we fundamentally support you, but there are limitations.
