“The Ministry of Energy, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will develop a roadmap for the project with a share of domestic technologies of 80% of the industry’s needs, monitor the opportunities and risks of Russian LNG production, taking into account global demand, consolidate companies’ plans for the creation and purchase of equipment and technologies, followed by the organization of their serial output,” the Russian government reports following a meeting on the development of LNG production in Russia.

It is noted that Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed the meeting participants to form working groups in areas, assess the level of import independence in the industry, and create a roadmap for the localization of equipment and LNG production technologies.

Earlier, the head of NOVATEK, Leonid Mikhelson, said that the first line of the Arctic LNG-2 project would be put into operation at the end of 2023.
