“US intelligence is trying to turn away all justified accusations against the United States of undermining the Nord Stream and transfer them to some vague “pro-Ukrainian groups,” Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

He noted that a high-tech state was behind the explosion.

"Unsuccessful attempt at disinformation," the senator added.

On March 7, The New York Times published an article stating that “new intelligence” indicates the involvement of a certain “pro-Ukrainian group” in undermining the Nord Stream in the Baltic Sea.

The Die Zeit newspaper also wrote that in Germany, the investigation had identified a vessel that could have been involved in blowing up the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea, traces leading to Ukraine.

American journalist Seymour Hersh previously published an investigation into US involvement in the Nord Stream incident.
