Former US President Donald Trump said he could stop the war in Ukraine within one day if he was re-elected, vowing to erase what he described as the deep state in his country.

"I will solve the problem and I will solve it at a rapid pace. It will not take more than one day. I know very well what I will say to each of them," Trump was quoted as saying by Sky News, referring to the two sides of the conflict that has been going on for more than a year.

The remarks came Sunday before a crowd of Trump supporters during the annual Conservative Leaders Conference, a three-day right-wing convention in Washington, DC.

Trump stated that there would be no more wars, saying, "I would prevent World War III very easily."

Trump also promised to save America from turning into an "obscene communist nightmare" by getting rid of the "deep state" and overturning the policies of the current US President, Joe Biden, if he gets a second chance for the presidency.

Trump has described himself as the only person who can make America great again.

"I will completely wipe out the deep state," he said. "I will expel the unelected bureaucrats and the shadow forces. They are sick people."

The conference at which Trump spoke follows the so-called "Conservative Political Action Conference", which was previously the largest gathering of conservatives in the United States, but was overshadowed by the right-wing Trump movement, whose slogan is "Let's restore America greatness."

The 2023 conference witnessed speeches by a number of Trump's staunchest supporters, as well as a number of potential candidates for the 2024 elections. Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro - who was defeated in the recent presidential elections in his country - received loud applause in the conference hall on Saturday, and Bolsonaro was keen to confirm his closeness to Trump. .
