O'Connor said it was a common, treatable skin cancer and "all cancerous tissue was successfully removed".
O'Connor said Biden will continue to undergo dermatological monitoring as part of his ongoing medical care, but the biopsy site has healed and no further treatment is required.
He also said that basal cell carcinoma lesions generally do not spread or metastasize.
