The 22-year-old man whom the prosecutor has singled out is a native of Borås, and has previously been in custody in rounds for the murder.

The evidence against him consists, among other things, of surveillance footage and witness statements.

There have been other suspects during the course of the investigation, but the prosecutor has not been able to bring further charges due to a lack of evidence.

Not sure who the shooter is

- There is different information in the investigation as to whether it is the defendant who fired the shots or whether it was someone else who did it, says Andreas Ekengren.

Are you happy with it?

- Sometimes you don't get all the way and that's how it is.

We have not reached the point where we can prosecute any other person.

The defense saw the investigation

The lawyer Ulrik Smedberg, who is the accused 22-year-old's defender, is strongly critical of the prosecution.

According to him, there is no evidence that can link the accused to the murder of Ziad.

- I have never seen a looser motive for a murder charge.

There are no witness statements, DNA traces or technical evidence pointing against my client.

The police have only realized that there are two specific people and interpreted information on their own about them.

According to Smedberg, the accused man denies any involvement in the murder.

- It is terribly sad to read this investigation.

The stakes are awfully bad, it's a mourning child.

In interrogations, the police have put words in the mouths of several of the witnesses who have been questioned and colored the statements that have come out.

The trial is expected to start in two weeks.
