• Trans Law Ayuso approaches Vox accepting the repeal but delays it to the next legislature

Although the Trans Law of the Community of Madrid has returned with force to the center of the political debate due to the efforts of Vox, doubts have always surrounded this text since its approval back in March 2016 under the Government of Cristina Cifuentes.

In fact,

the Executive of the Popular Party itself was the first to be suspicious of it due to its "notable legal deficiencies" and for "colliding with current laws"

.

Those were the words used by the still popular deputy Ana Camins at that time.

“We have never agreed on some points.

But yes in others and that is why it must be reformed », now points out one of the parliamentarians of the PP bench to justify that yesterday the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, announced her vote in favor of the Vox repeal proposal.

"

It is the first moment in which we have a sufficient majority to undertake the reform, let us not forget that until 4-M we governed with Ciudadanos

and they had supported it at the time," they indicate in the parliamentary group.

But in that favorable vote there is also a trick.

Because the popular ones emphasize that the deadlines make it impossible for the repeal to become effective in this same legislature due to "a botch" by Vox.

This "botch" is the processing by way of urgency instead of by single reading, which would have made the repeal effective immediately, or waiting for the formation of Rocío Monasterio until March since the procedure would take at least the

presentation of amendments until March 23

, the day on which the last plenary session is held for the dissolution of the Assembly.

"We have not moved from our position, we continue to think that it must be reformed and incidentally we enter the framework of the Vox electorate," says a popular parliamentarian.

Because the intention they have in the party is to reform it after the elections if they continue to govern: either by modifying some points or by repealing the current one and developing a new one.

From Vox, for their part, they assure that it is "the usual problem" with the PP.

"

On the one hand, they say they want to repeal it, that they don't believe in it, but they haven't touched it for seven years

," insist sources from Rocío Monasterio's team.

Yesterday, the spokeswoman herself was forceful before the microphones with this matter.

«

They have to decide if they are with the neo-Marxist gender ideology or with the protection of children and families.

I want to know what the PP believes in and what it defends

," said Monasterio, who also transferred the matter to Genoa, stressing that Alberto Núñez Feijóo is committed "one day to repeal it" and Borja Semper, his campaign spokesman, "the next day he says that you have to change it."

In Genoa they point out that their intention is to repeal part of the national law, especially regarding gender self-determination, approved by the Ministry of Equality, but they are not going to enter into the regional laws.

“Those are powers of each autonomous government,

We are not going to limit their functions or get involved in anything.

It will be they who decide what they should do

».

Mainly in this matter there are two autonomies of the PP,

Andalusia and Murcia

, as they are the only two that have gender self-determination within their laws.

Because Castilla y León does not even have an LGTBI law and Galicia does not include this point.

At the moment neither of the two autonomies has opened this debate and in both Executives they do not give an answer

on the possibility of embarking on the same path as the Community of Madrid.

Asked about the insistence on requesting its repeal, Rocío Monasterio limited it to a political issue.

"It serves to revolt against the Law of Pedro Sánchez and Irene Montero and for PP voters to clarify where their party is."

A line that is not far from that expressed by Ayuso in his speech, in which

he described trans realities as "aggressive, taxing and international fashions" that "are hurting adolescents around the world"

.

«This fashion does not depend only on laws, it is promoted on audiovisual platforms.

Look at your children's mobiles and you will see the contents.

And let's not talk about TV shows », she concluded.

The people's deputy Elisa Vigil, appointed to defend the position of the group in the debate, focused on gender self-determination,

considering it "an error", "a danger" by "causing confusion in minors and adolescents"

.

And it is that this, together with the incorporation of content on gender identity in Education and the inversion of the burden of proof -the defendant must demonstrate that there has been no discrimination in treatment-, are and have been the main obstacles of the PP with this law that went ahead with the votes of the PSOE, Podemos and Ciudadanos and with the abstention of the popular themselves in the vote.

"

There were aspects that were also very positive against discrimination against the LGTBI collective

," agree two PP deputies.

Because in reality the official name of the norm is the Law of Identity and Expression of Gender and Social Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Community of Madrid and it encompasses the entire group.

In trans realities it establishes that it guarantees "the right of trans people to receive from the Community of Madrid comprehensive and adequate care for their medical, psychological, legal, social, labor, cultural needs and the rest of the fundamental rights that can be recognized , in equal treatment with the rest of the citizenry.
