The teacher who allegedly sent messages with sexual content to students was discovered in connection with the internal work carried out after a former substitute teacher was reported to the police for sending sexual content to students.
- This is a serious and tragic event that we handle with both force and caution.
The teacher no longer works in Jönköping municipality and will be reported to the police, says Göran Isberg, director of education in Jönköping municipality.
According to the municipality, the teacher has been employed by the municipality for a long time and that there are several students in the junior high school who received material with sexual content sent to them last spring.
- The fact that we have additional cases in the municipality is of course very worrying.
It shows that we need to improve our value base and work environment work for our students.
For me, it is very important that we get to the bottom of this type of case, says Göran Isberg.
The education administration has been in contact with the affected students and their guardians.
Information about the incident has also gone out to staff and other guardians at the school.
At the school concerned, deeper work is now being started together with external consultants to raise the issue of violations and harassment.
