The fraud hunters are called the FUT group and work against incorrect payouts.

It has existed since 2020, but only last year did the regular work really start and you could start reaping the benefits.

In 2022, 27 police reports were made, which can be compared with the years 2016-2020 when two police reports were made.

- We have put the light on it, says Magnus Minh Gustafsson, head of the labor market and adult education administration.

Higher than ten percent

According to a government investigation into welfare crimes, it is four percent of the municipalities' financial aid that is wrongly paid.

But for municipalities such as Eskilstuna and Södertälje, the figure is more than twice as high – around ten percent.

- I think there are good reasons to assume that we are higher than ten percent.

Based on the results we have, we find very many and that gives an indication that it is higher, says Magnus Minh Gustafsson.

Got more resources

Since the start of the year, the FUT group has had an administrator who only works with refunds of incorrectly paid grants.

In the clip, Magnus Minh Gustafsson gives three examples of how the grant fraudsters proceed.
