Such a statement at a hearing in the US Congress was made by Undersecretary of Defense for Political Affairs Colin Cole.

He noted that Washington has not started training the Ukrainian military in the use of the F-16.

The delivery time for such fighters and the preparation time would be approximately 18 months, he noted.

“And since we have not made a decision to supply Ukraine with these machines, as well as our allies and partners, in my opinion, it does not make sense to start training in the use of systems that Ukraine may never receive,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said earlier that London would not supply Kyiv with Eurofighter Typhoon fighters in the near future.

The White House believes that Ukraine does not need fighter jets now.
