The case has its background in a high-profile murder case that took place in November 2020 when a young man was shot dead outside the university in Borås.

The two police officers who are indicted are suspected of having conducted their own investigation alongside the real murder investigation, which has not yet been resolved.

According to the indictment, the police officers must have withheld information from the head of the preliminary investigation.

They are also said to have handled a film which is said to contain important information about the murder.

Both deny wrongdoing.

Gross misconduct

A police officer is also suspected of breaching the duty of confidentiality as she allegedly leaked information about the investigation to the murder victim's family.

The other police officer is suspected of holding an interrogation with a main witness to the murder, in Björn Hurtig's premises in Borås, who was a defender of one of the suspects in the murder investigation.

- When the witness wants to meet, he wants a neutral place, as he is afraid to talk in the police station, says the policeman's lawyer, Jonas Westbring.

But is it a reasonable place to meet at Björn Hurtig's law firm, which is defending one of the suspects in the murder case?

- It is a very unfortunate circumstance.

When he makes that decision, he has no idea that Björn Hurtig is defending one of the suspects in the murder case.

The accused lawyer

The lawyer Björn Hurtig, in turn, is suspected of having bribed one of the police officers who stand accused.

Something he denies.

Regarding the suspected interrogation, Hurtig states that he did not know that it took place.

- Then I would have said no straight away.

It's wrong.

Ask about the fuck

After the lunch break, it emerged that one of the jurors in court had a close relationship with a police officer who knew one of the accused police officers.

The trial was then suspended.

- Then the defenders thought it could be a draw.

It is said to be because there is a schism between different factions in the police here in Borås.

The indicted policemen belong to one side and the other policeman belongs to the other side and that's where the hell lies, says the chief prosecutor.
