Due to the criticized investigation into suspected malfeasance within the police leadership and the sudden death of police chief Mats Löfving on the same day, a union reconciliation meeting was held with the national police chief and the HR director on Tuesday.

The investigation directed harsh criticism at Löfving, but contained no criticism of National Police Chief Anders Thornberg, who ordered it and appointed the investigator.

Both the investigation and its presentation have been criticized and questioned from various quarters.

After Tuesday's meeting, Katharina von Sydow confirms that they still have confidence in the national police chief.

At the same time, criticism was made about the way the investigation chose to be presented.

- We are critical of the whole arrangement and surprised.

We have not experienced that there was so much sensitive information that came out at a press conference before, she tells TT.

- As a union, we must protect individuals.

Even if you are a senior manager, you are also a human being and need support and protection.

Discussed culture of silence

Also participating were the national chief protection officers and the chairman of the trade union Saco.

- We talked, among other things, about the culture of silence and staffing processes, not least in relation to friendships, as well as many cultural issues, says Katharina von Sydow to TT.

During the day, SVT has been in contact with the confederations, who declined an interview at the moment.
