Starting Tuesday, March 7, carrot, parsnip and beetroot fries will replace the potato wedges.

This operation is scheduled for three to four weeks.

What do the chain's customers think?

Europe 1 went to meet them.

No more McDonald's potatoes or fries.

As of March 7, McDonald's will replace fries with vegetables for a few weeks.

Will customers be seduced?

Europe 1 went to meet them for a meal.

Carrots, beets and parsnips, from Haute-France, are the three vegetables chosen by the chain to replace potato fries.

The chain adapts to trends, as Margaux, 21, explains: "I often eat them even in vegetable fries restaurants. Me, I'm tempted!".

"We're not really here to eat healthy"

McDonald's highlights the nutritional quality of its innovation.

Nevertheless, Martin, another consumer, is not enthusiastic about the idea.

"We're not really here to eat healthy. If they want to make vegetables, they could make vegetable burgers, that would be more interesting", he explains at the microphone of Europe 1.

Fall back on old fries

Emile, a customer, also expresses some reluctance: "It's still an institution. I don't know how it's going to be but I hope they'll still keep the potato and potato option".

Rest assured, the vegetable operation is scheduled for only three to four weeks.

And if there are no more potatoes, there is always the good old fries option.
