"We are not going to feign democratic normality in the face of the worst government in history. A government that is guilty of deceiving voters, agreeing with the enemies of Spain, assaulting the institutions, decreeing unconstitutional states of alarm, guilty of galloping inflation, of calling for illegal immigration, of making laws that reduce the penalties for rapists and that pardons the coup plotters and guilty of having a parliamentary group with corrupt 18. We cannot wait sitting around and whistling for Sánchez to make the decision to demolish the State or to go to an international post".

With these sentences, Santiago Abascal has announced the registration, already consummated, of the motion of censure against Pedro Sánchez proposing Professor Ramón Tamames as an alternative candidate for the Presidency of the Government.

Regarding the abstention announced by the PP, Santiago Abascal has stated "not having thrown in the towel" in the hope that Feijóo will change this decision and opt for a vote in favor of the motion.

"If he were the opposite, we would support him," he assured.

The Vox leader has assured that Tamames embodies "harmony and union among Spaniards" and that the objective of his motion would be to immediately call elections.

To this he has added not to be surprised by the "demonization" to which his motion is being submitted.

"What we want is to portray the Government and that is what will happen when it is voted on and the Executive has the support of Spain's enemies," he stressed.

He has also described as "delusional, unfair and surprising" the attacks that Tamames has suffered due to his age.

The presentation of the motion of censure will be carried out by the leader of the party, Abascal himself, who would like the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, to call a debate on it as soon as possible.

In any case between five and 30 days after its presentation.

Vox is also satisfied with a "minimum coincidence" between the ideology of his party and what Tamames finally defends and has specified: "If we wanted the postulates to fully coincide with those of Vox, I would defend it," he stated.

"We", Abascal explained, "we are not in the political calculation or in that of the votes; we defend what we believe in, they will not see us betraying our principles"
