The left hand controls the rocker, and the right hand lightly plucks the strings. The tension of the strings is changed by pushing and pulling the lever, and the vibrating and melodious melody flows out of the monochord with only one string.

Su Haizhen, who played the lute, exuded a demure and elegant demeanor all over her body.

As the inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage of the Jing Nationality’s Duxianqin art, Su Haizhen is teaching Duxianqin skills to the outside world while performing the duties of the curator at the Dongxing Jing Nationality Ecological Museum in Fangchenggang City, Guangxi.

This year, Su Haizhen added another identity: member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

On the eve of the National Two Sessions in 2023, this young grassroots ethnic minority female cadre said in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency in Nanning, Guangxi that she felt that the responsibilities and missions on her shoulders were heavier.

The Jing nationality is the only marine ethnic group in China, and they mainly live in three islands in Dongxing, Wanwei, Shanxin and Wutou under the jurisdiction of Fangchenggang City, Guangxi.

As an ancient Chinese national musical instrument, the duxianqin is loved by the people of the Jing people for its "one string can play hundreds of tones". Folk songs express feelings.

"Duxianqin was also called Yixianqin and Duxianqin in ancient times. It originated in China and spread in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam and Myanmar." For reasons such as these, there was a gap in inheritance for a long period of time in the past, and it was on the verge of being lost.

Through the efforts of several generations of duxianqin folk artists, continuous improvement and development, the art of duxianqin has been gradually revived in the past 20 years.

Every time the traditional festival of the Jing Nationality "Ha Festival", the spectacular scene of hundreds of people playing the duxianqin in an ensemble on the beach shows the vigorous development of the duxianqin art.

According to Su Haizhen, at present, only in Fangchenggang City, thousands of people have been popularized to play the duxianqin. Duxianqin lovers from all over the country and even overseas have also come to learn from teachers. The "bridge" of friendship.

Dongxing is located on the Sino-Vietnamese border, just across the river from Mong Cai City, Vietnam.

As cross-border ethnic groups, the Kinh ethnic group in China and the main ethnic group in Vietnam share the same language and customs.

"Every year when the 'Ha Festival' of the Jing nationality and the 'Ha Festival' of Mong Cai in Vietnam are held, folks from the two places will visit each other with duxianqin to celebrate, learn from each other and exchange friendship." Su Haizhen said, whether in Vietnam Playing and singing the folk songs of the Jing nationality on the stage, or playing the duchord on the stages of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions, "every performance can always resonate with the audience."

In Su Haizhen's eyes, China and Vietnam have their own merits in the field of inheriting the art of the duchord.

She believes that although all the music colleges in Vietnam have a duchord major and a systematic teaching system, they are not as popular as China in terms of popularity. Vietnamese teachers and students are surprised and incredible. Both sides think that they can learn from each other and learn from each other's strengths to make up for their weaknesses."

After being elected as a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Su Haizhen naturally set her sights on the field of cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN.

In her view, with the close exchanges between the people of China and Vietnam in various fields over the years, the two sides have joined hands to create China-Vietnam International Trade and Tourism Expo, China-Vietnam Youth Boundary River Gala, China-Vietnam Lantern Festival Football Friendship Match and other China-Vietnam border economic, trade, cultural and sports exchange brands Activity.

How to further unleash the potential of border and sea tourism resources represented by national characteristic culture such as Jing Duxianqin and Jing nationality "Ha Festival", join hands with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries to develop cross-border cultural tourism industries, and jointly promote Duxianqin to declare world-class intangible culture Inheritance has become the focus of Su Haizhen's attention now.

"This will further benefit the people of China and Vietnam, deepen the friendship between China and Vietnam, share cultural resources, and achieve common prosperity and development." (End)
