Fully developed apartment fire in Holmsund: "An extensive fire"

The emergency services have gone in with smoke detectors, but there is currently no information that anyone is to remain in the building.

Extinguishing work is underway in several places around the property.

One person was taken to the hospital in Umeå with unclear injuries.

An ambulance is still at the scene.

- The person is being treated in hospital now, but I have no information on how badly injured they are, says Stefan Andersson at the police command centre.

Smoke divers equipped with chainsaws

Task leader Joakim Olsson found that it was an extensive construction fire and several smoke divers equipped with chainsaws were on their way into the house when SVT was on the scene.

- There is a fire in the attic and in the apartments.

For me, it is very extensive and we are in the middle of the response work now, says Joakim Olsson.

The neighborhood around the burning property was also cordoned off.

It is still unclear whether the building can be saved or whether it will be allowed to burn down.
