According to the parliamentarian, anti-Russian sanctions failed to inflict devastating damage on Russia, as the United States planned.
“The United States does not stop trying to harm Russia by introducing new and new restrictions, thereby violating the architecture of the world order, interfering in Russia’s relations with other countries that Washington is also trying to put pressure on,” the deputy said.
He added that the number of US sanctions imposed against Russia suggests that "Washington, for the sake of its own ambitions, is even ready for the fact that the whole world will have to be plunged into the abyss of economic contradictions."
Earlier, the US presidential administration announced the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions due to a special operation in Ukraine against 200 individuals and legal entities.
The US also announced an increase in duties on more than 100 types of Russian metals, minerals and chemical products.
