A minute of silence was observed this Thursday in high schools in France to pay tribute to the Spanish teacher, killed in class on Wednesday.

This is the case in an establishment in Sens, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, where Europe 1 met young students still marked by the drama.

Since this Wednesday, the educational world has been in mourning after the murder of a Spanish teacher at Saint-Thomas-d'Aquin high school, in Saint-Jean-de-Luz in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

After allegedly killing her, a 16-year-old admitted to hearing "a little voice" that "suggested he should commit murder".

This Thursday, high school students from all over France observed a minute of silence at the call of the Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye, to pay tribute to the victim.

Europe 1 went this Thursday to a high school in the town of Sens, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, where the educational staff gathered the students in the playground.

Like Émeline, most of the students left the establishment in a solemn atmosphere.

"One minute during which we thought about this teacher who was killed by her student, I find it important. If it happens to them, it can happen to us too, so it's sad to come to this there", recognizes the pupil of first.

Concerned students, worried parents

A high school student, Aurélien, shares the reactions he and his classmates had about the assassination.

"A student asked if the teenager's action was justifiable, we debated. But everyone said it was not justified. I think it's horrible because it's not something that should happen, especially in a school", says the high school student, upset by the appalling event.

But the news is also difficult to manage for some parents, who try somehow to reassure their children.

This is explained by Raphaël, who discussed the whole Wednesday evening with his daughter: "It touched her as a student, she had to visualize the scene through her teachers. And then, it didn't It's also not easy, as parents, to find the right words for a teenager, because we believe them to be safe in high school".

The parents, most of them very worried, hope never to be confronted with such a tragedy.
