Almost a year ago, the municipality closed several of ABF's leisure centers in Botkyrka.

In an external review by a security company, the leisure centers were pointed out as a hangout for criminals, among other things.

The management of ABF in the area considered that the report was full of inaccuracies.

In a publication from SVT, images are shown from when the police visited one of the recreational facilities in the spring of 2020 and identified several people in the Vårby network who were later convicted of serious crimes.

Examination of study associations

Education Minister Mats Persson met ABF's management on Wednesday to announce the government's decision to initiate a special review of the student unions.

- I told them that we demand that student associations ensure that they live up to the democratic values that exist in Sweden and that they ensure that there is no religious extremism such as Islamism or other types of activities that are bad for children, he tells Aftonbladet.

How did you react after the revelation that gang criminals were staying in the recreational facilities?

- I was pissed off.

I am a parent myself and know how important it is that children feel safe in leisure activities without feeling threatened or in a gang-criminal environment.

It's absolutely crazy.
