A positive test for clomiphene, a female fertility enhancer known to raise testosterone levels in men, caused the cancellation of his scheduled fight last October against British rival Chris Eubank Jr. The 26-year-old boxer has always denied having intentionally ingested this prohibited substance.

After consulting a nutritionist, the WBC found there was "no conclusive evidence that Benn intentionally ingested clomiphene" and announced his re-listing.

"Conor Benn's very high egg consumption during the period the check was carried out is a reasonable explanation," she said.

Despite this decision, Benn remains under investigation by Britain's Anti-Doping Agency and the British Boxing Control Board and will have to move to another country if he wishes to fight.
