After 31 consecutive days without significant precipitation, the rain will return to France this Wednesday, mainly in the northern quarter of the country.

The sky will alternate between cloudy periods and sunny spells on the shores of the Mediterranean and temperatures will remain high for the season.

The weather on Wednesday will be marked by a return of some rain, after a month without precipitation, but the high temperatures for the season remain.

A low rainfall area will concern Brittany, Lower Normandy and the Pays de la Loire from the first hours, announces Météo-France.

These rains will shift slowly towards the east and will stagnate in the afternoon on the Belgian border, Île de France, the Center region, Poitou-Charentes and northern Aquitaine.

️❌ The #rain has not fallen in France since January 21, a series of 31 consecutive days (February 20 included), unheard of during a meteorological winter.

All months combined, this consecutive series equals that of the year 2020 from March 17 to April 16.

In the evening, this rain band will approach the south of Aquitaine with more notable accumulations on the Pyrenean foothills and snow beyond 1600m.

At the back of this disturbed area, the sunny spells will be back, equaling cloudy periods, bringing showers on the Channel coasts in the evening.

The snow is back on the peaks of the Massif Central

Farther ahead, the sky will generally be very cloudy throughout the day.

A few showers will be expected, the snow will be back on the peaks of the Massif Central and beyond 1600m on the Alps.

On the shores of the Mediterranean, the sky will alternate between cloudy periods and sunny spells after the dissipation of the low clouds present in the morning.

The northwesterly wind will be noticeable on the Atlantic coast and around Brittany.

Minimum temperatures will be between 1 and 4 degrees near the eastern borders of the country, between 4 and 8 degrees elsewhere, and up to 8 and 10 degrees around the Gulf of Lion and in the southwest of France.

In the afternoon, maximum temperatures will reach 9 to 13 degrees in the northern half, and 13 to 16 degrees in the south.
