Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted a draft to the State Duma to suspend participation in the New START Treaty.

According to him, the State Duma deputies will consider the relevant document on February 22.

Grigory Karasin, head of the international committee of the Federation Council, admitted that the Federation Council could, following the State Duma, consider a law on suspending Russia's participation in the New START Treaty on February 22.

On February 21, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced that Russia was suspending its participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty.
