Swedish Rock Archive affected by water leak: "7-8 cm of water everywhere"

Gold discs may have been completely destroyed after being in water for an indefinite period of time.

When Stefan Ölvebring discovered the water leak on Sunday, there was approximately 7-8 centimeters of water over the entire basement level.

- If it had risen another centimeter, large parts of the archive would have been damaged, he says.

Hard work remains - must secure all items

As for the gold discs, it will appear that they are damaged, but Stefan Ölvebring hopes that they can be saved after all.

Now work remains to break up the floor in some places, in order to access all the water.

- The damage was still not as great as it could have been, says Stefan Ölvebring.
