By the end of 2022, my country's gigabit optical network has the ability to cover more than 500 million households, and the number of 5G base stations will reach 2.312 million.
Gigabit fiber optic network coverage of average urban households in Gigabit cities exceeds 100%, achieving full coverage of Gigabit fiber optic networks in urban households.
Gigabit cities have an average of 22.2 5G base stations per 10,000 people, which is higher than the national average of 15.7 per 10,000 people.
The number of "Double Gigabit" users continued to grow.
By the end of 2022, my country will have over 90 million gigabit users and over 561 million 5G users.
The average proportion of 5G users in Gigabit cities reached 38.9%, higher than the national average.
5G network coverage in key places continued to be optimized.
The 5G network accessibility rate of public hospitals above tertiary level, key universities, key cultural tourism areas, railway stations above second-class and above for passenger transport business, main line airports, key roads and other key places in gigabit cities exceeds 80%. Among them, 84 cities The 5G access rate of key places has reached 100%, which strongly supports the accelerated digital transformation of industrial manufacturing, ports, mines, cultural tourism and other fields.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the next step will be to launch the implementation of the Gigabit Optical Network "Following the Light Plan", strengthen cross-industry and cross-enterprise collaborative innovation, and drive the scale and diversification of "dual gigabit" applications.
Encourage leading enterprises and scientific research institutions to increase R&D investment in ultra-high-speed optical fiber transmission, next-generation optical network technology and wireless communication technology.
Encourage all localities to promote the application of "dual Gigabit" networks in characteristic industries according to local conditions, and empower the digital, networked, and intelligent transformation and development of traditional industries.
