China News Agency, Beijing, February 19th: The mainland's goodwill is in line with the opinions of the people on both sides of the strait. The DPP authorities still need to show more sincerity

When the spring is warm and the flowers are blooming, Taiwan's farmers and fisheries have not yet emerged from the cold winter.

It was supposed to be the peak season for sales of custard pineapple in Taiwan, but now thousands of tons are facing unsalable sales on the island, and the price has suffered an "avalanche". The Taiwan authorities even plan to purchase it as fertilizer, which makes local farmers feel sad and helpless.

Over the past few days, the mainland has continued to express its goodwill and concern for the livelihood of the people on the island. Taiwan's agricultural and fishing circles are grateful for this; the DPP authorities need to show more sincerity and effectively respond to the goodwill of the mainland and the needs of the people on the island.

The mainland has always been an important export market for Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products.

Since March 2021, the mainland has suspended the import of Taiwan-related products due to harmful organisms and banned drugs in Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products; It is not an effective solution, and continues to maliciously operate the "anti-China protection Taiwan", ignoring the well-being of Taiwan's farmers and fisheries, resulting in heavy losses and unspeakable suffering.

More and more people have realized that only opening up the mainland market is a pragmatic and long-term solution.

In the process of promoting national rejuvenation and reunification of the motherland, the mainland has always respected, cared for and benefited Taiwan compatriots.

After the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council stated on the 13th that it was willing to provide assistance in resuming the import of Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products to the mainland, Song Tao, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, further stated when meeting with Huang Yicheng, chairman of the Taiwan Cross-Strait Agricultural and Fishery Exchange Development Investment Association, on the 15th, "Under the premise of meeting the inspection and quarantine standards, we will coordinate with relevant departments to actively solve it."

The above-mentioned warm-hearted statement is intended to bring tangible benefits to the grassroots people in Taiwan. It shows the concept of "cross-strait family" that the mainland has upheld for many years, and has also received positive responses from relevant Taiwanese industry players.

A farmer in Pingtung said bluntly that the mainland market can allow Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products to be exported stably; a Kaohsiung farmer who has been engaged in pineapple cultivation for more than ten years also expressed the hope that the sales to the mainland will be smooth in the future, so that the agricultural and fishery industries on both sides of the strait will be mutually beneficial.

Promoting the development of cross-Strait economic and trade cooperation, including agriculture and fisheries, is the aspiration of the people and the general trend.

Observing that Taiwan's economic prospects are worrisome, Lin Bofeng, chairman of Taiwan's 33 Enterprise Exchange Association, recently stated that he will visit the mainland at the end of May to bring cross-strait trade back on track, and he also called on the Taiwan authorities to take practical actions to ease cross-strait relations.

While people of insight in the mainland and the island are taking positive and pragmatic measures to help cross-strait exchanges go further, the DPP authorities are holding back and even setting up obstacles, chilling the hearts of the people on both sides of the strait who are eagerly looking forward to normal exchanges and exchanges.

First, it repeatedly set restrictions on the resumption of the "miniature three links", and was criticized by the people on the island for standing still, ignoring public opinion, and "not being sincere". prevaricate for excuses...

What needs to be recognized is that countercurrent actions cannot stop the trend of cross-strait integration. The DPP authorities should show more sincerity as soon as possible and seize the opportunity to resume cross-strait exchanges. This is a wise move to win the hearts of the people and maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. .
