If Finland joins NATO, Sweden would become the only country on the Baltic Sea that is not part of the defense alliance.

Today, Ulf Kristersson met US Vice President Kamala Harris and Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin to discuss Sweden's and Finland's NATO processes, but no direct news was conveyed after the meeting.

- Instead, maybe it is next week when US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken goes to Ankara and meets the Turkish government that things can happen.

An optimistic interpretation is that the US may be able to increase the pressure on Turkey next week, says Christoffer Wendick.
