At the same time, one of the attackers, according to Borodin, had a knife in his hand.
In a conversation with RT, the head of the FPBK suggested that the reason for the attack could be the fact that the Russian Boxing Federation offered him to head the organization's representative office in Lipetsk, and pointed to a possible organizer - local "criminal authority" Oleg Chukardin, nicknamed Chukarda.
“For the past ten years, local bandits, former criminals, have been in charge there.
These characters have been used to being fed for a decade at the expense of the boxing federation, and they, of course, do not want to lose these opportunities, ”said Borodin.
He also added that he was present at the tournament as an honored guest, and he had already asked the authorities to pay attention to Chukardin a year ago, when he “knocked down a woman at a pedestrian crossing.”
“I wrote a corresponding statement in relation to him to the prosecutor’s office with a request to investigate and punish the culprit,” Borodin concluded in an interview with RT.
