DN now reports that the party appointed an internal investigation in 2017 into Ebba Östlin's leadership.

She had then sent a high-profile message in a group chat after her political secretary resigned.

After the incident, an internal investigation was started which did not lead to any measures directed at Östlin, according to DN.

- The message came about two minutes after I resigned.

She never apologized for it and I think it's inappropriate for a manager to do that right after someone quit.

Even though it was not meant to be sent to me, says the political secretary to DN.

Lost vote of confidence

S-top Ebba Östlin was poked in January as group leader in Botkyrka after a vote of confidence that was described by her defenders as a coup.

The alleged coup is based on the fact that the municipality closed seven of ABF's leisure centers at short notice at the beginning of 2022. It emerged that employees in the business had been convicted of serious crimes and that several incidents, including an assault, had occurred at the centers .

After the vote, information emerged that people with gang criminal connections had participated.

According to her critics, the vote was not about a coup at all, but believed that it was about a lack of leadership.

Party leaders want to see her return

Several local S politicians still stand behind the former group leader.

Among them is the temporarily appointed chairman of the municipal board, Gabriel Melki, and Robert Aslan, chairman of the S-association in Norsborg.

"Many from the entire municipality support her and want her as KSO - and I am openly one of them," writes Robert Aslan in a message to DN.
