In an industrial estate on the outskirts of Belfast, Declan Gormley has one of his factories.

He manufactures ventilation systems and is one of the winners of the Northern Ireland Protocol.

He thinks he gets the best of both worlds.

- It gives us opportunities that the rest of the UK doesn't get, says Declan Gormley.

Ever since Britain left the EU, Northern Ireland has been a tough nut to crack.

The solution was that Northern Ireland remains in the EU's internal market, which means new border controls for goods brought from Great Britain to Northern Ireland.

At the same time, the protocol faces opposition from Northern Irish unionists and the British government.

Now the EU and Great Britain are negotiating – again.
