The one-day work stoppage affects the airports of the cities of Bremen, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Munich, Stuttgart and Leipzig.

Nearly 2,400 canceled flights and 300,000 passengers will have to take their troubles patiently or travel by train this Friday, reports our correspondent in Berlin,

Pascal Thibaut

.

Ticket changes are free and refunds are possible.

The Lufthansa company, the first victim of the strikes, offers support for train tickets.

After a one-day strike that paralyzed Berlin airport at the end of January, the services union Ver.di is increasing pressure on employers at an unusual stage of negotiations.

The strategy remains the same: different groups of employees stop the work paralyzing the airports.

Ver.di obviously wants to extract as large concessions as possible from the employers.

Von den Streiks betroffen sind die Flughäfen Frankfurt/Main, München, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Dortmund, Hannover und Bremen.

Towards a stronger strike to come?

The union is demanding a 10.5% wage increase to offset rising inflation and a bonus of 500 euros for the 2.5 million state and municipal employees and even 15% at the post office.

The president of Ver.di has already warned: “

The next strikes will have another dimension

” if a new round of negotiations, next week, does not succeed.
