“According to the latest information, a total of 38,044 people died in Kahramanmarash, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana, Adiyaman, Osmaniye, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya and Elazig,” TASS reports.

It is noted that more than 4.7 thousand aftershocks have been recorded in the region since the first earthquake.

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing estimates from the Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Representatives of the Country's Business Circle, wrote that the damage to the Turkish economy from earthquakes could exceed $84 billion, or about 10% of GDP.
