The Liberal Democratic Party, New Komeito Party, and the Democratic Party for the People have started working-level talks on the themes of wage increases and childcare support.

Following on from last year, this will be a three-party policy discussion, and the focus will also be on the Democratic Party for the People's response to the new fiscal year's budget proposal.

The Liberal Democratic Party, New Komeito Party, and the Democratic Party for the People each established working-level study teams with the themes of raising wages and enhancing child-rearing support.

Among them, it was confirmed that each team will consider specific measures in the future, and the wage increase team will hold discussions in the first half of next week based on the fact that labor-management negotiations for this year's spring labor negotiations are in full swing. Agreed.

In connection with this, the Democratic Party for the People argued that a government-labor-management conference should be held by the government, the business community, and the labor community in order to spread the momentum of wage increases to small and medium-sized enterprises and non-regular workers.

Last year, the three parties held working-level discussions to consider measures to deal with soaring crude oil prices, in response to the opposition Democratic Party for the People's unusual response in favor of the new fiscal year's budget proposal.

With the start of policy discussions this year, the focus will also be on the Democratic Party for the People's response to the new fiscal year's budget, which is expected to be voted on in the House of Representatives this month.
