One year before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Foreign Minister Hayashi decided to hold a G7 (7 major countries) foreign ministers' meeting at the same time as the international conference to be held in Germany to confirm the continuation of support for Ukraine. I am leaving on the day.

Foreign Minister Hayashi will visit Munich, Germany for three days starting on the 17th to attend the "Munich Security Conference" where ministers and experts from various countries, mainly from Europe and the United States, exchange opinions.

On the 24th of this month, it will be a year since Russia invaded Ukraine, and the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting will be held on the night of the 18th, Japan time, and Ukraine's Foreign Minister Kureba will also participate.

At the foreign ministers' meeting that Japan will hold for the first time as the G7 chair country this year, it is expected that the two countries will unite and reaffirm their policy of continuing sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine.

At the Munich Security Conference, Minister Hayashi announced that Japan will demonstrate to the international community its stance of contributing to the peace and stability of the region, based on the fact that Japan decided on a new national security strategy last year.

In addition, he is coordinating with South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin, who will be attending the conference, to meet individually, and intends to confirm that communication between diplomatic authorities will continue on the issue of "recruitment" during the Pacific War.
