More than 500 people from 19 Chinese rescue teams rush to help

After Turkey suffered two strong earthquakes on February 6, countries all over the world extended a helping hand, and more than 100 countries and regions successively sent rescue teams to Turkey.

Many Chinese rescue forces rushed thousands of miles to the earthquake-stricken areas.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 15th, after the strong earthquake in Turkey, the Chinese government sent 82 Chinese rescue teams, and the Hong Kong SAR government sent 59 Hong Kong SAR rescue teams. In addition, 441 people from 17 domestic social emergency forces went to Turkey for the earthquake. Rescue in disaster areas.

Eight members of the Zhejiang Gongyang Rescue Team and a search and rescue dog arrived in Hatay, Turkey on the 8th, becoming the first Chinese social emergency rescue force to arrive in the disaster-stricken area in Turkey.

At the same time, multiple rescue forces including the Blue Sky Rescue Team, Chengdu Yuyu Public Welfare Team, and Shenzhen Public Welfare Rescue Team also arrived at the scene of the disaster area one after another with equipment such as life detectors, demolition equipment, and search equipment.

Rescuers from different countries and wearing uniforms of different colors worked tirelessly on the ruins and performed the "miracle of life" of search and rescue many times after the 72-hour golden rescue period.

According to incomplete statistics, as of now, the Chinese rescue team has rescued 6 trapped people and searched for 11 victims; the Hong Kong SAR rescue team has rescued a total of 4 survivors in the earthquake zone; the blue sky rescue team cooperated with other rescue teams Searched and rescued 8 survivors and 137 victims...

The tacit cooperation of rescue teams greatly improves the efficiency of search and rescue

Compared with domestic rescue, cross-border rescue has to face multiple difficulties such as language barriers, incomplete equipment, and unfamiliar environment. The earthquake-stricken areas in Turkey and Syria are also affected by border turmoil and the threat of cholera.

Hao Nan, executive vice chairman of the Earthquake Emergency Rescue Professional Committee of the China Disaster Prevention Association and head of the Zhuoming Disaster Information Service Center, said that international rescues are also divided into levels. Among the international rescues he has experienced, this Turkish rescue should be the highest level and largest. difficult.

Among the Chinese social emergency forces that went to Turkey for rescue, the Blue Sky Rescue Team has the largest team.

A total of 290 people from 103 blue sky rescue teams from 23 provinces across the country have been fighting in Malatya, Adiyaman and Kahramanmaras in Turkey for 7 consecutive days, searching a total of 380 buildings, about 180,000 square meters.

"The shortage of equipment is a major difficulty for us at the rescue site." Wang Yi, the commander-in-chief of the Blue Sky Rescue Team, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency that due to the temporary coordination of the flight, the equipment carried by the team at departure greatly exceeded the flight's capacity. Loading capacity, for which they can only leave a large amount of equipment at the airfield.

Transnational rescue and equipment shortages require the Chinese rescue teams in Turkey to strengthen communication and form a unified coordination mechanism to avoid fighting on their own.

After the earthquake, Chengdu Shouyu Public Welfare, which has rich experience in international rescue, was entrusted by relevant departments to immediately establish the "Chinese Social Forces Participating in Turkey's Earthquake Response Coordination Base Camp", responsible for the unified reporting of rescue teams in the disaster area, and according to each rescue team A rescue map is drawn at the rescue points every day.

In the disaster-stricken area of Hatay, Pinglan Foundation, Sany Group rescue team and Green Boat Rescue spontaneously formed a joint rescue team, and the three formed complementary technologies.

The Pinglan Foundation is good at detecting signs of life, Green Boat Rescue is better at demolition, and the Trinity Rescue Team has equipment advantages and high excavation efficiency.

The tacit cooperation between rescue teams has greatly improved the efficiency of search and rescue.

Sowing the "seeds" of international humanitarianism

As of the 15th local time, the earthquake in Turkey has killed more than 41,000 people in Turkey and Syria.

At present, as the focus of disaster relief has gradually shifted from life rescue to relief and resettlement, rescue teams from various countries have gradually withdrawn.

It is understood that the Zhejiang Ram rescue team, which has completed the rescue mission, returned to China in two batches on February 15 and 16.

Eight team members searched and rescued 178 collapsed buildings within 5 days, rescued 9 survivors and found 15 victims.

Wang Yi told reporters that as the possibility of searching and rescuing lives gradually decreased, the Blue Sky Rescue Team retreated to Istanbul collectively on the evening of February 15 local time. After a two-day rest, the team will return to China in batches.

After arriving in Istanbul, the Blue Sky Rescue Team had another "mission".

Wang Yi said that some Turkish translators who participated in the rescue hoped to sow the "seeds" of the rescue and friendship of the Blue Sky Rescue Team in the local area.

During the 2-day rest in Istanbul, the Blue Sky Rescue Team will hold a small ceremony at a local university to assist them in establishing the Blue Sky Rescue Team in Turkey.

At present, many Chinese rescue forces are still working hard to carry out follow-up work.

In the later period, the relief and resettlement and post-disaster reconstruction work of Turkey and Syria needed the support of international humanitarianism.
