In Tunisia, arrests continue.

After former magistrates, executives of political parties this weekend or even the director general of the most listened to radio station in the country on Monday evening, it is a former deputy who was arrested on Tuesday evening.

While traveling in the field, President Kaïs Saïed spoke at length about this wave of arrests.

They were necessary and urgent according to him.

, Kaïs Saïed enjoys a walkabout in a popular market in Tunis.

He wanted to show that he remained in control: “ 

Those who manipulate prices will have to assume their responsibilities.

We won't leave the thieves alone.

Those who do this to citizens will pay a high price

Conspiracy

While social protest intensifies at the same time as inflation in Tunisia, the head of state wanted to show that he stood alongside the most vulnerable.

According to him, the delicate situation that the Tunisian economy is going through is due to a plot hatched by personalities who aim to sow discord in the country.

It was from the Ministry of the Interior where he went in stride that he clarified his thoughts: 

“We will not let these people do what they want in Tunisia.

We live in sensitive and dangerous times.

There is a threat to internal and external national security

The Tunisian president went so far as to maintain that an assassination attempt against him was in preparation.

For several days, the lawyers of those arrested have constantly denounced the absence of material evidence for these accusations.

Arrests which have earned Tunisia condemnations from the UN, which evokes a wave of repression against opponents.
