This was reported to RT in the press service of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) platform.

It is noted that the robot uses an ozone generator.

The device sprays it upwards at an angle, which allows you to disinfect hard-to-reach places.

As specified, ozone destroys up to 100% of pathogens: these are viruses, including influenza strains, as well as bacteria and mold fungi.

The robot has the size of a domestic cat, is equipped with a camera, a means of communication, sensors, contactless charging, can overcome obstacles up to 5 cm high. The operating time of the device is about an hour.

With such dimensions, the cost of the disinfector will not exceed 150 thousand rubles, experts explained.

Staying indoors while the device is in operation is not recommended.

“When a person may enter the area of responsibility of the robot, it stops the production of ozone and gives an alarm to leave the processing area.

The device has a built-in sensor for measuring ozone concentration in order to evaluate the residual concentration after processing the premises, ”explained Pavel Khlyupin, project leader, director of the Center for Digital Technologies and Robotics and Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment of Enterprises of the Ufa State Oil Technical University.

According to the researchers, the product can be used in various areas: from the disinfection of school classrooms to the processing of public catering outlets.

After testing, the sanitizer robot can also be scaled up to handle larger spaces and spaces.

The developers hope to release the first batch of devices by the end of 2023.

The operators of the federal project "Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship" are ANO "NTI Platform", the Innovation Promotion Foundation, the Skolkovo Innovation Center, the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

The project is being implemented as part of the Decade of Science and Technology, which is taking place in Russia in 2022-2031.

The work was carried out on the basis of the acceleration program of the federal project "Platforms of University Technological Entrepreneurship".

Earlier in Russia, they proposed a way to reduce the concentration of CO₂ in the air using roads.
