“Such allegations are absolutely unfounded and unsubstantiated... We resolutely reject insinuations about Russia's alleged desire to “undermine” the situation in the Republic of Moldova.

Unlike Western countries and Ukraine, we do not interfere in the internal affairs of Moldova and other countries of the world,” the diplomat said.

According to Zakharova, such statements are built according to the classical scheme: first they make accusations with reference to intelligence that cannot be verified, and then use them to justify their own lawlessness.

“We call on the Moldovan authorities to finally show statesmanship, not to succumb to provocations from outside and be guided in their actions by the interests of the citizens of their own country,” she said.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu earlier expressed confidence that "attacks are being prepared" against the country.

According to Sandu, the purpose of "sabotage is to overthrow the constitutional order in order to transfer the country to the disposal of Russia."

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he gave Sandu "a detailed Russian plan to destroy the political situation in Moldova."

He did not specify what plan he was talking about and who was its author.
