The Investigative Committee will establish the circumstances of Kiev's preparation of a provocation against Russia

"The indicated facts will be given a legal assessment," the statement said.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Kyiv was preparing a provocation accusing Russia of infecting large areas of Ukraine as a result of military actions near Chernobyl.

In addition, the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response of Russia stated that specialists from Norway, together with the special services of Ukraine, falsified protocols on radioactive contamination in the Kyiv region.
