"Currently under treatment for pneumonia, the Lyon coach is resting and sees his condition improving daily," said a statement from the Rhone club without specifying the duration of the technician's absence.
The presence of the latter, however, seems uncertain Friday in Auxerre where Lyon moves for the 24th day of the championship (9:00 p.m.).
The healing time for pneumopathy is in principle about fifteen days.
Lyon will play anyway without their striker and scorer, Alexandre Lacazette, victim of a left thigh injury.
