Ford, a major American automaker, has announced that it will cut about 3,800 employees in Europe over the next three years as part of a business restructuring accompanying the spread of EVs.

Ford announced on the 14th that it will cut about 3,800 jobs at its European locations over the next three years.

This represents 11% of the total workforce in Europe, mainly in product development and management, with 2,300 jobs cut in Germany and 1,300 jobs in the UK.

The statement emphasizes the importance of business restructuring in line with the shift to EVs, stating that it will "respond to the rapidly changing market environment and the expansion of entry into the EV market by competitors."

In addition, there is no change in the policy of converting all vehicles sold in Europe to EVs by 2035, and it is said that production of EVs made in Europe will start in the second half of this year.

In Europe, Germany's Mercedes-Benz Group and Audi have announced the implementation of personnel reductions so far in order to respond to the EV shift.
