While the employers' side focuses on the fact that the good years are over and that the construction industry is now being hit hard by the economic downturn, the Construction trade union still sees the future positively and highlights a great need for construction and climate adaptations.

At the same time, the Construction trade union is very critical of the fact that criminal companies are often found as subcontractors on construction sites where reputable companies stand as main contractors.

- Fraud in the industry can be prevented and controlled.

But it requires coordination and responsibility.

In order to succeed in getting rid of the criminal companies, the controls must become more and more effective.

Serious business must pay off and equal competition is the only way forward, says Johan Lindholm, Byggnad's chairman, according to a press release.

Protest against fiddling companies

On Tuesday, a demonstration is also organized against crime in the construction industry and for dirty jobs.

Construction workers from all over the country gather outside the Svenskt Näringsliv office at Östermalm in Stockholm.

The construction companies, i.e. the employer side, respond that they feel that together with the union they have moved the issue of healthy competition forward in recent years, but at the same time admit that there is more to do.

At the same time, the sky-high inflation has caused it in the contract movement.

According to the latest statistics, the price increase ceiling is 10.2 percent in Sweden.

Byggnads announces that they support the LO coordination, which requires a wage margin of 4.4 percent plus a low-wage investment and extra pension provision.

The construction companies respond that they require a responsible contract movement to secure employment and want the level (the so-called "mark") set by the Industrial Agreement to be maintained in construction as well.
