In recent months, Trump's legal team has turned over more classified documents to federal prosecutors.

In addition, a laptop of one of Trump's aides stored copies of relevant documents and was also handed over to prosecutors.

A steady stream of confidential documents

According to a CNN report, several sources confirmed that in mid-January, when Trump's legal team searched multiple boxes at Mar-a-Lago, they found more confidential documents, as well as a document printed with "Confidential". Empty folder with the words "Evening Briefing", all items have been handed over to Justice Department prosecutors.

According to the report, the laptop handed over to the Justice Department originally belonged to an aide of Trump. It is reported that the person concerned had used a USB flash drive and the hard drive of the laptop computer to copy and store copies of the document without knowing that it was a confidential document.

The aide is now working for the Save America PAC, and the computer and USB drive have also been handed over to investigators.

According to the American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) report, these documents were found in the main building of Mar-a-Lago, which was different from the documents that had been stored in the storage room before.

As for the empty folder found, it is not clear what files were stored there.

“In this case, investigators search the computer to see if classified documents are still there,” said John Cohen, a former DHS intelligence division specialist.

"They're also investigating whether anyone has transferred classified documents to their computers or devices."

At present, Trump and the Office of the Special Counsel have not yet responded to this.

"Document Gate" escalates Trump: stop harassing him!

In August 2022, FBI agents executed a search warrant at Trump’s private residence, Mar-a-Lago, in Florida.

Among the objects seized by the FBI, there are more than 11,000 government documents and photos, of which more than 100 are marked as classified, 54 are "secret", 31 are "confidential", and 18 are the highest level "top secret".

In November 2022, Jack Smith was appointed as special counsel to oversee multiple investigations of Trump by the Justice Department.

These investigations involve Trump's possible mishandling of classified documents after leaving office and hindering the government's recovery of documents, as well as attempts by Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

A few days ago, former U.S. Vice President Pence received a subpoena from the special prosecutor of the Department of Justice. The U.S. media said it was to investigate Trump’s role in the Congressional riots.

Additionally, classified documents were recently discovered in the homes of Pence and Biden, which have been turned over to the Justice Department and are under investigation.

When Trump was caught up in multiple investigations, he did not forget to defend Pence.

"Mike Pence is innocent. He has done nothing knowingly dishonest. Stop harassing him!!!" Trump posted on the social platform truth social.
