The victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria who have family in Germany will be able to join her for three months.

According to Nancy Faeser, this is an “

 emergency aid 

” whose objective is to offer the survivors of the disaster shelter as well as medical care, all in a rapid manner.

The government promises the granting of three-month visas.

To simplify the administrative formalities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already increased the staff in the German consulates in Turkey.

But several details remain to be clarified.

In particular the question of whether the victims, to obtain the visa, will need a passport.

While many survivors lost everything in the disaster.

Diaspora 

Germany has the largest Turkish diaspora in the world, with more than three million people.

Since 2015 and then-Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to open the borders, more than 900,000 Syrians also live in the country.
