The world is heading towards the biggest crisis since World War II, and a major escalation in the Ukraine conflict is to be expected in the coming months.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the national media by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

“We are facing the biggest crisis in the world that we have seen since the Second World War.

What happened before is almost nothing compared to what awaits us ... I know that there is a big escalation ahead of us, and I hope that some people understand that we do not need it.

In the next five or six months there will be the most difficult conflicts, ”TASS quotes him.

The President of Serbia believes that the situation in Ukraine will only get worse in the near future and eventually get out of control.

According to him, after the decision to transfer Western-made tanks to Kyiv, the transfer of F-16 fighters will also be agreed.

Vučić is not the only European politician speaking about the danger of an escalation of the Ukrainian conflict.

Thus, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Filippo, believes that the actions of Volodymyr Zelensky and the heads of the EU countries can lead to irreversible consequences.

“Zelensky and the EU staged a circus this week – irresponsible, capable of leading to a third world war,” the politician said.

This is how he commented on the visit of the President of Ukraine to Brussels for the EU summit, during which Zelensky demanded that the Europeans supply Kyiv with more weapons, including fighter jets.

Earlier, UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed concern that the situation in Ukraine could lead to an expansion of the conflict.

“The prospects for peace continue to decline.

The likelihood of further escalation and new bloodshed is becoming ever higher.

I am afraid that the world is moving towards a larger war not blindly, but with eyes wide open, ”he said in his speech at the UN General Assembly.

Sponsor of Instability

Russia has repeatedly noted that the main provoking factor in a possible escalation of the situation around Ukraine is the actions of the collective West to saturate the Kyiv regime with weapons.

At the same time, at the end of January, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, stated that the growth of the conflict potential comes at the suggestion of the United States.

“The escalation of tension is also due to those decisions that are made primarily in Washington and under pressure from Washington in European capitals.

This refers to the supply of weapons, tanks, ”Peskov said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that, if desired, the US president can end the conflict by giving an appropriate instruction to Kyiv.

“The key to the Kyiv regime is largely in the hands of Washington.

Now we see that the current head of the White House does not want to use this key, on the contrary, he chooses the path of further pumping up Ukraine with weapons, ”Peskov said, adding that the United States is already discussing the transfer of Western fighters to Kyiv.

Earlier, he noted that the conflict is developing in an upward spiral, and the indirect and sometimes direct involvement of NATO countries in it is growing.

Recall, on January 25, Joe Biden announced that Washington would transfer 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

On the same day, the German government announced that it would supply the Kyiv regime with Leopard 2 tanks and allow other countries to re-export these vehicles to Ukraine.

The UK, France, Norway, Poland and Slovakia announced their intention to supply heavy armored vehicles.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, noted at the end of January that Kyiv expected to receive up to 140 tanks as the first batch.

Almost immediately after that, there were reports in the media that the West was discussing the potential supply of combat aircraft to the Kyiv regime - the corresponding demands were repeatedly put forward by Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials.

In the US, Germany and other countries, they are officially saying that this issue is not on the agenda.

In turn, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, commenting on the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv, noted that the West is increasingly drawn into the conflict.

“The US and its allies are trying to prolong the conflict as much as possible.

To do this, they began to supply heavy offensive weapons, openly urge Ukraine to seize our territories.

In fact, such steps draw the NATO countries into the conflict and can lead to an unpredictable level of its escalation,” Shoigu said, speaking on February 7 at a conference call of the Defense Ministry.

At the same time, the minister stressed that the Russian troops "continue to grind" all the weapons and equipment supplied to Kyiv both on the routes of their delivery and in combat positions.

Passed Traits

Military expert Ivan Konovalov, in a conversation with RT, noted that the actions of the collective West to saturate the Kyiv regime with an ever wider range of strike weapons directly affect the escalation of the situation around Ukraine and the growth of its global conflict potential.

“After the line with tanks was passed, now this process has moved to combat aircraft.

Any sensible politician will ask himself: what next, what will they ask for this time?

Obviously, the planes will not affect the situation either - only nuclear weapons remain.

And this is not excluded, given the statements of Kyiv about its intention to abandon the nuclear-free status, ”the expert emphasized.

He stated that one of the main sponsors of the growing tension around Ukraine is Washington, which is not worried about the possible consequences, since it is located overseas.

“This is a very reckless position - this crisis will affect everyone and very deeply.

Only a small number of European politicians are now aware of the scale of the disaster and where everything is going, ”the RT interlocutor added.

“Moreover, at some point, the Americans will simply curtail their activities in the Ukrainian direction.

It seems unlikely to some now, but this is exactly what happened with Afghanistan: this direction was “developed” for 20 years, and then it was curtailed in three days, ”Konovalov noted.

In turn, Andrey Koshkin, a member of the Academy of Military Sciences of the Russian Federation, believes that European leaders are demonstrating unity with Washington's course to saturate the Kyiv regime with weapons, but as the escalation grows, this will become increasingly difficult.

“Contradictions will multiply as the armories of the European powers empty, as political decisions are made that aggravate the situation,” the political scientist emphasized.

However, for now, the collective West does not intend to change course for escalation, Koshkin added.

“Washington, London and Brussels are interested in this.

At the same time, the United States claims that they are allegedly trying to prevent this conflict from escalating into a confrontation between Russia and NATO.

But there are processes that can suddenly get out of control after you start them.

Russia regularly warns the West about such a danger, but these warnings are ignored there and do not show any desire to resolve the conflict, ”the expert concluded.
