China News Service, February 11 (Xinhua) According to the website of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated on the 11th that due to the obstruction of the Democratic Progressive Party authorities, the mainland delegation to mourn Master Xingyun could not go to Taiwan.

Zhu Fenglian said that Master Hsing Yun, the founding patriarch of Taiwan's Fo Guang Mountain, passed away in Taiwan on February 5, and relevant parties in the mainland attach great importance to it.

At the invitation of Fo Guang Shan, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the State Administration of Religious Affairs, the Buddhist Association of China and Jiangsu Province formed a condolence delegation and planned to go to Taiwan from February 11th to 14th.

Over the past few days, with the assistance of Fo Guang Shan, the 38 members of the condolence group went through the formalities for going to Taiwan through normal channels, and gathered at the Capital Airport on the morning of the 11th as planned to prepare for departure.

Due to Taiwan's obstruction, the condolence group could not take place.

In disregard of basic humanitarianism, the DPP authorities rudely refused the mainland condolence group to go to Taiwan, which made Master Hsing Yun's funeral unable to be held successfully, seriously hurting the feelings of the majority of believers in Taiwan's Fo Guang Shan, and unpopular.

Zhu Fenglian also said that relevant parties in the mainland will adjust the condolence itinerary, and go to the ancestral home of Fo Guang Shan Dajue Temple in Yixing, Jiangsu Province on February 12 to mourn Master Xingyun.
