The Liberals and the Sweden Democrats disagree on how much labor immigration to Sweden should be limited.

According to the Tidö agreement, labor immigration must only be allowed if the salary is around SEK 33,000, but it has also been added that certain occupational groups should not be covered by the rules.

L wants to see exceptions for care workers

The Liberals want to see broad exceptions that can apply to seasonal workers who, for example, pick berries or plant forests, as well as to personnel in health and social care.

In Ekot's Saturday interview, the Liberals' party leader, labor market and integration minister, Johan Pehrson, says that among other things, he wants to look at the situation for nurses and assistant nurses.

In the interview, he raises union alarms that employees in the care professions feel bad because there are too few hands.

- There are people, there are vacancies, there is money for salaries, but there is no one applying for these jobs, he says in the interview.

"It binds"

But the Sweden Democrats are against the Liberals' proposal for exceptions, which became known in connection with an article in Dagens industri earlier this week.

- It's complicated, we have slightly different entrances, says Johan Pehrson in Ekot's Saturday interview.

He does not want to go into more detail about how the negotiations are going, but says that it is important to honor the Tidö agreement.
