Zakharova called inhuman refusal to help Syria after the earthquake due to sanctions

“Under the current circumstances, the unilateral illegal sanctions imposed on Syria remain in effect.

This, to put it mildly, complicates the process of eliminating the consequences of the earthquake and providing assistance to the Syrians from other states and non-governmental organizations,” Zakharova said.

She noted that the statement that assistance could not be provided due to the existing sanctions represented "inhuman logic".

According to the latest data, the number of victims of the earthquake in Syria has increased to 1347.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres stressed that no sanctions should prevent the provision of humanitarian assistance to Syria after the earthquake.
