An air alert was declared across Ukraine on Friday as authorities warned of possible Russian missile attacks, urging residents to take shelter, Reuters reports.

"There is a huge threat of missile attack. I want to stress once again: don't ignore the air warning sirens," said Serhiy Popko, head of the kyiv city military administration.

Meeting of the presidents of Poland and Ukraine

The presidents of Poland and Ukraine met in Rzeszow, southeastern Poland, on Thursday and discussed the situation in the region, the Polish president's office said on Twitter on Friday.
