US President Joe Biden vowed, during a tour of Florida Thursday, that it would be a "nightmare" for Republicans if they touched social privileges.

Biden said that "the dream of many Republicans is to abolish Social Security and Medicare," which are, respectively: an old-age assistance program and health insurance for the elderly.

And the 80-year-old Democratic president added, "If that is your dream, I will be your nightmare," promising to block any legislative attempt in this direction.

And it seems that Biden has already started a campaign for the 2024 presidential elections, although he has not officially announced his candidacy, and he seeks to continue the debate that he started last Tuesday in Congress during his speech on the State of the Union.

In his speech, Biden criticized the Republicans for their willingness to sacrifice these two social programs, under the pretext of maintaining budgetary discipline.

This drew strong denials from Republicans, who called the president a "liar."
