Today, Thursday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of a young man, who succumbed to being shot by the Israeli army in the southern West Bank, while the occupation forces said that he tried to carry out a stabbing attack.

In a statement, the ministry said, "We received a notification from the Civil Affairs Authority (the contact with the Israeli side) of the martyrdom of Sharif Hassan Rabaa (21 years), as a result of critical injuries he sustained by the occupation's bullets near the entrance to Al-Fawar camp."

Earlier, the ministry announced that it had received a report that the Palestinian was critically injured after being shot by the Israeli army, while eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that an Israeli force shot a Palestinian near Al-Fawar refugee camp, south of Hebron.

According to witnesses, the Palestinian "was shot and left bleeding on the ground, without knowing the nature of his injury, then the army took him by military vehicle to an unknown destination."

For its part, the Israeli Army Radio said that a Palestinian "tried to carry out the stabbing attack at the Al-Fawar junction, south of Hebron, and no soldier was injured in the incident," adding that the soldiers opened fire on him.

The army posted on Twitter a picture of a large kitchen knife that it said the Palestinian was carrying before he was killed in the southern city of Hebron.
